Empower Your Child’s Education with a Scholarship Catered to their needs. Supporting Utah Families of Students with Disabilities
Navigating educational choices for your child with disabilities can be challenging. The Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship (CSOS), administered by the Children First Education Fund, offers financial assistance to help your child thrive in a learning environment that best suits their needs.
Is Your Child Eligible?
Your child may qualify for a scholarship if:
- They are between the ages of 3 and 21.
- They have a documented disability as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Students may not be enrolled in public or charter school in the school year that the scholarship will be used. They may be enrolled in public school when the application is submitted.
- They reside in Utah with a custodial parent or legal guardian.
Note: Students currently receiving the legacy Carson Smith Scholarship or the Utah Fits All Scholarship are not eligible for another scholarship in the same year.
What Can the Scholarship Cover?
Our scholarships provide funds that can be used for:
Tuition and fees at eligible private schools.
Homeschooling expenses, including curriculum and instructional materials.
Educational therapies and treatments related to your child's needs.
